The School of Education recording studios are one of the busiest classrooms. Educational session start very early morning till late hours. Almost all aspects of recording, PTZ camera control and AV management is run by the technical team from a central control room at the Faculty.

One of the main issues the Studios were suffering from was the AV system integration at the teacher consoles. Cables were always a mess, the teacher had to handle several remote controls and the technical team limited resources were unable to provide the service level they were used to.

Opens the new academic year with smart classrooms

The International School at the University, a long time customer of TecPodium lecterns and podiums, has recently decided to upgrade more classrooms using the all-in-one TecPodium WorkStations, providing a cost-effective, complete answer to the needs of both students and professors.

TecPodium Solutions Implemented in a new Law Faculty Courtroom

Easy-to-use, Turn-Key solution eliminates presenters difficulties
 
A recent decision to design and build the first, one of a kind educational courtroom to simulate court proceedings in a University led to choosing Tecom AV solutions for control, connectivity, switching and presentation.
 One of the Faculty requirements was for simplicity of use while maintaining the look and feel of a real courtroom environment. As a great example of a complex project, the construction included complete cooperation and team work with the AV department at the School.

On the technical side, Tecom supplied its TSS-650 switcher/scaler to serve as the main switcher for the different presentation sources. The judges and counsels are using the LIS-85W interactive pen displays and the TCM-400 series of AV Pop-up connections boxes were integrated into the Courtroom furniture. Now, all participants can share content on the Full-HD projector in the room and can easily switch between different sources.

Social Sciences College Updates Smart Classrooms

Hospital Auditorium Goes Interactive

A large hospital in Russia has recently decided to renovate its main 1,000 seats auditorium. The auditorium is referred to as the “face” of the hospital, and hosts many important conventions every year.

The TecPodium Presenter HD, a height adjustable lectern, was the chosen solution alongside additional five Interactive Pen Displays, for an easy to use presentation solution.

TecPodium Presenter HD is a revolutionary all-in-one AV lectern. The Presenter allows for a perfect height adjustment with the lecturer work surface, at the touch of a button. All the audio-visual equipment is secure and locked within the lectern.

The architect in the project wanted to have a wooden appearance for the AV system on stage which was achieved by custom-made birch wood casing for the Lectern and speakers panel table where the interactive screens were integrated.

The Presenter lectern carries a 22” multi-touch screen and integrated push button controls that allow easy operation of all presentation sources in the room. It also meets all ADA requirements for fitting the workplace to people with disabilities.

The LIS-85W – 21.5” Interactive Pen Displays were installed in the speaker’s panel and allow online collaboration and joint work on the same screen for all participants. It enables direct annotation on the screen. All annotations, drawings or notes can be saved at the end of the presentation or even emailed directly to participants.

A healthcare facility wanted to upgrade the use and functionality of their existing cafeteria by adding AV capabilities to the space and allowing presentations and other social gatherings for the patients and staff.

School of Education New HD Studios use TecPodium Lite

Leading University chooses Tecom for a Turn Key Solution 

 

A recent decision to design and build a new educational studio and control room in a University School of Education, led to Tecom TecPodium lecterns as the main technological hub in the studio. The new studio is designed to serve both students and lecturers, who carved on their flag : "Education and Excellence".

 

On the technical side, Tecom supplied TecPodium Lite HD lecterns, which provide easy-to-use access to all the audiovisual equipment in the studio including computer, projector, laptop, sound and more.  Ergonomically designed, the Lite HD Lectern also includes an interactive pen display to allow direct on screen annotation.

 

Ultra-short Hitachi interactive projectors allow the lecturers to annotate on the whiteboard as well. The studio has 3 PTZ HD cameras and microphone recording system to allow recording of multiple angles. Sound masking wall tiles were also installed for better acoustic treatment.

College Expands with TecPodium Workstation

College of Engineering new expansion gets TecPodium WorkStations in a collaborative project with Crestron controllers

The TecPodium WorkStation is the most cost effective complete solution that Tecom has in its product line. Complete with an HD switching scaling system – TSS-650 – also known as The Translator.

TecPodium was fitted with a 3rd party control system (Crestron in this case) and central monitoring software, providing the IT managers an updated status and remote control over all AV components.

Now teachers at the College have the ability to connect their HD and analog laptops or use the integrated PC within the WorkStations. High-resolution monitors allow instructors to face their audience at all times while presenting.

The Federal Republic of Nigeria Defence Headquarters Gets TecPodium Interactive Lecterns

The complex project and strict customer requirements led to choosing the user-friendly and fully integrated Tecom podiums

The Nigerian Defence Headquarters (DHQ) supervises the Army, Navy and Air Force as well as Tri-Services Institutions.

Recently, a new 21st century DHQ building, comprised of a main conference hall, monitoring room and staff offices, was specially constructed with the intention of providing better logistics for conferencing and office accommodation for the DHQ personnel.

“We are Focusing on high-end solutions”, says Idongesit Inyang of Hewelt Systems Limited, integrators of the DHQ Smart Conference room project. “The facility represents the integrity of Nigeria’s Armed Forces which demanded an AV solution that would address modern presentation needs with superior technology that guarantees security and flexibility.”

On the technical side, four high-resolution 98” Ultra LED screens, in strategic positions within the room, provide ease of view for all participants. Three Pan, zoom and tilt HD cameras allow conference streaming, recording and live broadcast from the main hall to remote sites worldwide.

In the center of the main hall, two fully equipped TecPodium Interactive Lecterns (Tecom TPI-12W) were installed with IPD (interactive pen display) and multi-touch capabilities serving as the brainbox for presentations and lectures. Sporting a modern look and a push-button, user-friendly interface, the TecPodium Interactive was chosen for its smart capabilities, helping presenters focus on their materials.
